Place the parallel gauge on the standard surface and turn the dial indicator to make  the long needle return to zero.  

Remove the parallel gauge. 

Place the z-axis setter on the workpiece, the tool contacts the operation surface, and the distance between the tool and the workpiece is 50 mm when the slow feeding  speed reaches the second finger at "0".
